What Residual Treatments Mean For Pest Control

|

If you’ve heard the word “residual” come up during a conversation about quarterly pest control, you’re not alone. It tends to surface when we recommend treating the outside of a property before scheduling any interior work—and without a quick explanation, it can sound more technical than it needs to.

The short version: residual treatments are about how long a treatment stays active, not about applying more product than a property needs.

This short video puts it in plain language.

What Makes a Treatment Residual

A residual treatment is one designed to keep working after it’s applied. With our quarterly service, a residual treatment lasts around 90 days—which is why quarterly visits can maintain protection around a property without requiring a treatment every month.

Why We Start Outside, Not Inside

For quarterly service, we only need access to the exterior to create a barrier around the home. That exterior barrier is designed to protect the interior, so an indoor treatment isn’t always necessary. This approach is more convenient when you’d prefer not to arrange interior access, and it fits our focus on targeted treatments rather than blanket chemical applications.

If pest activity indoors needs attention, interior treatment is covered under your warranty. Every property is different, which is why we assess current activity, entry points, and contributing conditions before making any recommendations—so the treatment plan matches what’s actually happening at your property, not a generic formula.
