Squirrel Control in Austin, TX

Clear Attic & Roofline Assessments Before We Recommend Squirrel Control

Our squirrel control in Austin starts by determining what’s moving through your attic, where it may be entering, and which conditions could allow the activity to continue. Daytime running, scratching, or gnawing often points to squirrels, but rats, mice, birds, and other animals can leave similar evidence.

Planning squirrel removal requires identifying active nesting areas and roofline access before any openings are sealed. We provide a clear assessment and practical recommendations instead of relying on a generic pest treatment or unnecessary chemical applications.

Need squirrel control in Austin, TX? Schedule a free inspection and estimate by calling (888) 840-5806 or reaching out online. We’ll arrange a convenient visit to assess the activity and explain the next steps.

What We Check During an Austin Squirrel Assessment

We begin with a free pest inspection and estimate, often completed in about an hour. During the visit, we examine current activity, potential attic entry points, and contributing conditions before recommending a course of action.

Our initial assessment may include:

Current activity: We review noises, visible evidence, and likely nesting areas to help identify the animal involved.
Potential entry points: We check accessible roofline gaps, vents, soffits, fascia, and other openings that may provide a route indoors.
Access conditions: We consider nearby tree limbs, roof access, and other conditions associated with recurring squirrel activity.
Clear next steps: We explain our recommendations in straightforward language and provide an estimate before service begins.

A plan may need to distinguish between addressing an active animal and completing later exclusion, which involves closing openings wildlife could use to enter. Those openings shouldn’t be sealed until the status of any animal inside has been assessed. We can explain what the property needs based on what we find.

Licensed Pest Management Since 1996, With Less Reliance on Chemicals

At Barefoot Mosquito & Pest Control, we’ve provided pest control services since 1996. Our technicians hold the required licenses and complete apprenticeship, classroom instruction, hands-on field training, and a state-approved exam.

Our targeted pest-management methods reduce reliance on excessive chemical applications. That distinction matters when an animal is entering a structure and a blanket treatment won’t address the source of the problem. We’re fully insured and back our work with multiple guarantees.

Signs You May Need Squirrel Removal in Austin

Squirrels are most active in the early morning and late afternoon, so attic noises at those times can be an important clue. Similar sounds at night may indicate a different animal, making an on-site evaluation worthwhile.

Evidence worth having professionally assessed includes:

Running, scratching, or gnawing sounds above ceilings or near the roofline.
Visible gaps around vents, soffits, fascia, or other roof edges.
Nesting material, droppings, or gnaw marks in accessible attic areas.
Disturbed attic insulation or visible damage around an entry point.
Chewed or damaged electrical wiring.

Avoid disturbing an active nest or closing an opening before the animal’s status is known. An inspection can distinguish squirrel nesting from rodent or bird activity and identify concerns that need prompt attention.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quarterly treatments work best for Round Rock homes. Central Texas’s warm climate keeps pests active nearly year-round, with different seasonal peaks: mosquitoes and ants in spring/summer, rodents in fall/winter, and termites swarming in spring. Quarterly service maintains a protective barrier.
Look for droppings in cabinets or along baseboards, gnaw marks on food packaging, scratching sounds in walls or ceilings at night, grease marks along travel routes, and nesting material in attic spaces. Our technicians can identify the species and entry points during a free inspection.
Termite swarming in Round Rock typically occurs March through May. Williamson County’s limestone terrain and clay soils support year-round underground termite activity, but spring is when swarmers are most visible near windows and foundation walls. If you notice small winged insects or discarded wings, contact us for a free inspection.

Same-Day Help for Urgent Squirrel Activity

We offer same-day appointments for urgent pest issues when scheduling allows. Prompt evaluation is especially important if an animal has entered a living area, electrical wiring appears damaged, or visible property damage is continuing.

Our licensed technicians assess the situation, explain their recommendations, and provide an estimate. We use targeted methods intended to be mindful of children and pets. Residential customers can choose from one-time, seasonal, and year-round pest service options based on their needs.

How Squirrels Gain Access to Austin Homes

According to Texas A&M AgriLife, fox squirrels are common in Central Texas, and tree squirrels may use attics as nesting sites. Overlapping tree limbs can provide access to the roof, while inadequately screened vents and roofline gaps may offer a way inside.

Prevention planning should account for every relevant opening, not just the most visible gap. Any exclusion work should take place only after an animal has left or otherwise been addressed to avoid sealing active wildlife inside the structure.
